About Holly Bowler

I work in a mixture of different Media including sculpture, installation, film, painting and performance. The general theme behind my work is very politically influenced. Such as how will certain policies affect our country, as well as touching on some environmental politics.

There is a general interactive theme running throughout me work, allowing for people to become a part of it and take more from it than the conventional stand and stare gallery atmosphere. The work is meant to provoke thought and question political roles in society. As well as our role in society, as we are the ones who make the final say in all matters that will be passed. However, there is a lack of enthusiasm to do so in our modern society.

Other artists like Jeremy Deller whose inspired me with his enthusiasm towards more interactive work, and some of the pieces like ‘Battle of Orgreave’ have opened doors for me as to what you can create with a political stand point. As well as David Shrigley and his quirky art work, humor can make work more palatable if there is a strong message behind it, and still it retains its integrity.

I am also a member or 'The Unlimited Dream Company' a Performance Art Collective based in Lincolnshire.
