Name: Coke, Vodka, Water

Artist: Holly Bowler

Made: 2013

These plants have been fed over a period of weeks liquids we as humans regular consume. This was all done in the hope to see some form of visible side affect of these liquids on the plants growth that would usually be invisible on a human. Each plant is placed in alphabetical order, the same as the title of this temporary piece.

Coke (C): The plant that was fed only coke at first it grew to the same strength as the plant fed only water. However, there was one difference. The smell of this plant was unbearable, the coke like it would to a human has caused the plant to smell. Coke causes bad breath in humans, the plant also suffered from this in its own way. Eventually it began to wilt and change color to a yellowy green, light brown and in some parts purple.

Vodka (V): Alcohol dehydrates, the plant dried up and slowly died after being fed only vodka in this experiment. It didn't last long.

Water (W): This plant was fed only water to make it easier to see if their was any visible change to the ones fed vodka and coke. As expected it grew fine, and didn't smell. It was perfectly healthy.
